Definitely not the first person to write a blog about this product but I'm so in love with them I couldn't NOT jump in.
For those who aren't aware, these lip lacquers are new from Rimmel and claim to combine the best parts of both lipstick and lip gloss. Available in 8 shades ranging from nude to bright red, they retail at £5.99 but there are loads of offers on at the moment meaning you can grab a bargain.
I'm a huge fan of lipsticks and related products but hate glosses and as I'm often forgetful at reapplying, I like something that has super staying power. As you can see, I opted for the two brightest colours in the range. I usually wear red lips most days so "Big Bang" was an obvious choice. It's a bright, bold, perfect red. My other choice was "Apocalyptic" which is hot pink.
As I said, I hate glosses, especially that sticky gloppy feeling so I had my doubts but these are not like that. They're rich and creamy and go on so smoothly without being too heavy or nasty on your lips. They're very opaque and I found I only needed one coat to do my lips and it lasted for ages. My lips also didn't feel dry after wearing it all day and I appreciate that it's hydrating.
You can see the applicator here - looks like a typical lipgloss brush but notice now there's a blob of product on the end? That's because there's a reservoir which means you get more on the brush and don't have to keep dipping it back in for more. The brush is also slightly flat on that side which makes application super quick and easy. Look how rich the colour is as well.
Here's Big Bang on my (duck) face - like I've said before, I have great difficulty making normal faces in photos! I love how bright the lip colour is which still having a bit of shine. I'm usually a fan of matte lips but I actually quite like it as its not too much.
And here's Apocalyptic on. I definitely don't think this picked up the colour well as it looks almost red here but it's definitely pink on. It's bright but not too bright - I wore it to work today and wouldn't have felt ok with that if it was too garish! It might have been because I only put it in to swatch but this definitely stained my lips after removal. Also excuse the dodgy bit where I missed my mouth! Oops! Haha
I don't know if I'll try any of the other shades. I'm not into nude lips and spend to stick to shades of red with ventures into pink and purple. Let me know if you've tried these and what you think!

Want. Want. Want. I think that a sign of a great review is that it makes me want to buy the product immediately. Even though its raining, I have no petrol and I'm broke! Love the bright colour, looks ace on you. Do they do a purpley shade?
