#214 it's so fluffy!!

 

I spotted this new nail art tool on a couple of blogs recently and couldn't resist picking it up when I was in Superdrug today.

I've never seen anything like this before - furry nails! How cute does that sound?

MakeUp Academy are a pretty cheap brand available only in Superdrug or online (I think) and I've never used them before but hey, cheap and cheerful for a pretty gimmicky product.

Retailing at £3, fur effects comes in 5 pretty cutesie colours which includes 3 shades of pink, blue and purple. I got "fluffy bobbin", which looks blue online and purple in my pot and "fluff and cuddles" which is a darker pink. The names are more than a little cheesy.

In theory it's super easy to apply - you paint your nails and while still wet, press them into the fluff. And actually it was super easy and quick to apply. There's a shaker but nothing comes out so I had to prise the top off and shake some into the lid. Pressing my nails into it left them patchy, so I had to dab some on.

So it is fluffy? I had some silly fantasy about having lush cuddly nails but to be honest, it feels more like felt. Not such a bad thing but I think my expectations were too high.

As I said before its pretty gimmicky and you can't put a top coat on so I'm not sure how it will last. Or what it will be like to remove.

For £3 I say why not give it a go - its a fun manicure you could use for nights out or special occasions.

For reference, the polish I used under my fur effects is Topshop "rose royce".

Tell me what you think about the picture layout I used - I did this post solely on my ipad and had no sunlight for the photos (because its Scotland in January) but I might try it again with better quality pictures if you guys think its not too bad.
